In einem gemeinsamen Innovationprojekt haben der Entsorgungsverband Saar und das August-Wilhelm Scheer Institut eine digitale Lösung für die virtuelle Inspektion von Abwasseranlagen entwickelt. Grundsätzlich müssen Abwasseranlagen regelmäßig befahren werden, um sicherzugehen, dass die Betriebssicherheit dieser kritischen Infrastruktur sichergestellt ist. Mit einer Virtual Reality Brille und der Technologie des digitalen Zwillings wird eine ortsunabhängige Inspektion möglich, die Fahrtwege und Zeit einspart sowie den CO2-Ausstoß vermindert. Damit stellt der Entsorgungsverband Saar die Betriebssicherheit der Abwasseranlagen sicher und reduziert gleichzeitig den Betriebsaufwand.
