Photovoltaikanlagen auf Mehrparteienimmobilien erzeugen Strom, der direkt vor Ort genutzt wird: Das ist Mieterstrom. So werden versiegelte Flächen zur Energieerzeugung genutzt und Solarstrom für viele Menschen zugänglich gemacht. Die Komplexität des Konzepts und der Umsetzung sowie eine verhältnismäßig geringe Förderung hemmen den Erneuerbare-Energien-Ausbau dieses Segments, welches jedoch als Schlüssel zur Akzeptanz und Sektorenkopplung dient. Deshalb muss Mieterstrom politisch aufgewertet werden.
