SuperWorld allows users to buy land and to customize their plots with NFTs, music, videos, images, etc. Each plot of land in SuperWorld measures 100m x 100m of real world space and can be bought and sold via Ethereum. We spoke with the CEO and co-founder, Hrish Lotlikar, about the importance of the metaverse for our societies future, the characteristics and functions of the platform and why people and even countries are interested in creating a presence SuperWorld.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_custom_heading text=“Hrish, you have had major success in the investment banking sector and entertainment industry. How did you get inspired to turn your attention to the metaverse? Then I got into venture capital for a number of years in New York and eventually started a venture capital fund in Eastern Europe about 12 years ago. There I was first exposed to augmented reality.
Then, previous to SuperWorld, I started Rogue Initiative Studios, which is a film, television, gaming and virtual reality studio in Hollywood. My co-founder produced the Call of Duty Modern Warfare Series and my production partner at Rogue Initiative Studios is Michael Bay, the action director who is known for Transformers, The Island and Bad Boys, among others. What that experience taught me was how impactful cross platform entertainment content is. Content could be created in an engine and then be used for linear entertainment like movies and television, as well as interactive and immersive entertainment. Shortly after that, Pokémon Go came out and basically demonstrated that it was possible to add content to real world locations.
With all of these things coming together, my co-founder Max Woon and I realized that there was an opportunity to create a world. We thought: maybe we cannot build the next Pokémon Go, but can we build a platform, on which the next 1000 Pokémon Go’s will be built? Could we build a world where anyone could create, discover and monetize anything anywhere? And could we add Web 3 to that world and enable people to have ownership of the spaces around them? In the end, that was the reason that compelled us to start SuperWorld.[/vc_column_text][vc_custom_heading text=“The metaverse includes multiple different platforms, each one having its own characteristics. We are in SuperWorld right now; it is all around us in augmented reality. This fact is also the major difference between SuperWorld and other platforms. Many other worlds are completely virtual, but we are not. Our platform is based on real world surroundings. We are trying to create real world utility, because people occupy real places in the real world, which include places where people work, play, live and educate themselves.
At the same time, we are building a very open platform. We want to be the gateway to other virtual worlds, to crypto, to DeFi, to NFTs and to all the other things that people want to do in the metaverse.
I often find that people ask themselves, what is the metaverse? What is AR/VR? What is an NFT? But what they do understand is where they live, where they go to work, where they like to go to watch sports games. These are things they can identify with and are very tangible to them. In SuperWorld, they have the opportunity to buy the places that they love and to create AR content and NFTs. Besides that, e-commerce will also be coming to the platform very soon, which will further advance the possibilities to monetize your land.

This example demonstrates that even countries can utilize the benefits of immersive technologies and Web3 . Banks have also recognized the opportunities that the metaverse offers.
